The Life Church
Sunday School
The Life Church Sunday School ministers to children from 2 years of age through the sixth grade. The primary goal is biblical education and life application in age appropriate settings. Sunday School classes meet every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.. It utilizes two types of educational settings: traditional Sunday School and rotational Sunday School.
Rotation Sunday School is a new, exciting format of Christian education that adds variety to traditional Sunday School. In rotation Sunday School, students move to a different class and teacher each week for a period of six weeks. Each classroom teaches the same basic lesson but does so differently each week. The six stations or classrooms are: Art, Cookery, Games, Storytelling, Videos and Science. In essence, rotation Sunday School reorganizes the way children are taught, not the content of what is taught. This style of teaching utilizes repetition, a key ingredient in children’s learning, yet it adds variety to keep children’s interest.
Traditional Sunday School consists of teaching Bible stories, the memorization of scripture, songs, games and art activities. Teachers at various times will either utilize an established curriculum published by the Pentecostal Publishing House or compose their own curricula based on the individual needs and interests of their class. The older children are challenged with real-life applications and more advanced doctrinal and historical teaching. We also introduce our older students to skills that will enable them to begin ministries of their own as they mature and find their place within the body of Christ.
